Man Fatally Shot in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Homicide Branch of the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a man in Northeast D.C. on Saturday afternoon.

At around 4:06 p.m., police were called to the scene at the 1700 block of Benning Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, the victim unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Michael Hansley, whose address remains unknown. The police are urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
