Man Found Dead Days After Prison Release

Delaware State Police are investigating the mysterious death of 43-year-old Daniel W. Devol-Neidig of Dover, Delaware, and are appealing to the public for information that could shed light on the case.

On October 9, 2023, at about 1:30 p.m., employees at Recycling Management Resources in Wilmington discovered Devol-Neidig’s body in a processing area.

The cause of death is currently undetermined, pending autopsy results. Devol-Neidig was last seen on October 2 when he was released from Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown, Delaware.

Authorities are actively pursuing leads in their investigation and are encouraging anyone with information about Devol-Neidig’s activities or whereabouts before his death to come forward.

“As we continue our investigation, public assistance can be crucial in filling the gaps,” a Delaware State Police spokesperson stated.
