Man found dead in Elkridge home invasion

ELKRIDGE, MD – Police in Elkridge are investigating the suspicious death of a man found with trauma after being called to extinguish a small fire inside his apartment. A suspect is in custody, police reported.

According to the Howard County Police Department, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police were called to the 6000 block of Old Washington Road in Elkridge for a possible home invasion.

“Police located a deceased adult male inside the residence with signs of trauma. One person at the residence was taken into custody,” the HCPD said in a statement.

Howard County Department of Fire & Rescue Services personnel also extinguished a small fire at the residence. 

The investigation is ongoing.
