Man found shot to death in D.C. apartment building

WASHINGTON, DC — A 37-year-old man was shot and killed late Sunday night in Southeast D.C., prompting a homicide investigation.

Officers responded around 10:00 p.m. to a residential building in the 2900 block of Knox Place, SE, following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and EMS attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as William Williams of Southeast DC.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
