Man found shot to death on 14th Street

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was found fatally shot early Tuesday morning in the 1600 block of 14th Street Northwest, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Just before 4 a.m., officers from the Third District were dispatched to the area following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.

DC Fire and EMS arrived shortly after and determined the victim showed no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Henry Crutchfield of Waldorf, Maryland.

Investigation continues as reward offered for information

Detectives have not released information about potential suspects or a motive. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the case.
