Man Found With 16-Year-Old, Crack Cocaine During Seaford Traffic Stop

Seaford, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 43-year-old Aaron Matthews of Georgetown, Delaware, on multiple felony drug charges after a traffic stop on Concord Road near River Vista Drive yesterday afternoon.

At about 1:10 p.m., a patrol trooper noticed a gray Mercedes Benz SL 55 with invalid registration traveling westbound. When the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, it continued at a slow speed before eventually stopping on Middleford Road east of Sussex Highway. Matthews was arrested without incident. A 16-year-old male passenger was unharmed and later released to a family member.

Upon searching the vehicle, troopers found a small amount of crack cocaine on the driver’s floorboard.

A further search revealed more crack cocaine hidden in the back seat of the police car where Matthews was detained. Approximately 28.4 grams of crack cocaine were recovered in total.
