Man killed, another injured in Harlem shooting

HARLEM, N.Y. — A man was killed and another injured in a shooting early Wednesday in Harlem, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a male shot at West 160th Street and Amsterdam Avenue at approximately 12:05 a.m. When they arrived, they found an unidentified male with a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency Medical Services transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities later learned that a 25-year-old man had been taken by private means to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the left ankle. He is reported to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
