Man killed in early morning Northeast D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 21-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in Northeast D.C., prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities.

Around 1:15 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Jay Street, Northeast, following reports of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, they discovered Antoine Pratt, of Northeast, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation as officials work to determine the events that led to the fatal encounter.
