Man Shot and Killed Christmas Eve in Harlem

NEW YORK, NY – A 23-year-old man was fatally shot on Amsterdam Avenue, prompting an ongoing police investigation.

The New York Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 5:47 PM on Sunday, December 24, reporting shots fired at 1430 Amsterdam Avenue in the area of the 26th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased is currently withheld, pending notification of the family.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The NYPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
