CONEY ISLAND, NY – Early Sunday morning, a brawl escalated into a shooting in Coney Island, leaving a 43-year-old man injured.
Officers responded to the incident near a community pharmacy at 2913 Surf Ave. around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Upon arrival, the police found the victim with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Two shell casings were recovered at the scene.
The victim was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn and is currently in stable condition. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The New York Police Department asks for information regarding the incident, requesting that tips be directed to the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline or their online platforms.
