Man shot in leg on Bronx street corner, suspect at large

BRONX, N.Y. — A 37-year-old man was shot in the leg early Saturday morning in the Allerton section of the Bronx, according to police.

The shooting occurred around 12:06 a.m. at the corner of Britton Street and Barker Avenue, where the victim was standing when an unidentified male approached and fired a gun, striking him in the left leg.

Emergency medical services transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction following the shooting.

Police described the individual as a male with short hair and a dark beard. He was last seen wearing a black and white shirt, blue jean shorts, black and white sneakers, and carrying a white bag.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify the shooter.
