Man shot in lower back at Bronx intersection, suspect fled on foot

BRONX, N.Y. — A man was shot last Sunday night at the intersection of Boston Road and East 168th Street in the Bronx, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. when an unidentified individual discharged a firearm, striking a 34-year-old male victim in the lower back.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. He was reported to be in stable condition, according to authorities.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the area on foot. Police have not yet identified the individual or released a description.

Investigation ongoing as police seek suspect

The NYPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No arrests have been made, and detectives are working to determine a motive.
