Man shot on South 55th Street Early Friday morning, Philadelphia Police Investigating

PHILADELPHIA — A 61-year-old man was shot in the left knee on the roadway near the 1100 block of South 55th Street early Friday morning, police said.

The shooting occurred at approximately 7:04 a.m. in the 12th District. Authorities transported the victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police did not locate a crime scene or recover any weapons.

No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

A man was hospitalized after an early morning highway shooting with no suspects in custody.
