WASHINGTON, D.C. – The nation’s capitol had been murder free for almost two weeks, until Thursday afternoon when a man was shot and killed in the city’s fifth district.
It was one of the longest stretches without a gun-related shooting death in the city this year.
According to police, the male victim was shot on the 3000 Block of Adams Street in Northeast D.C.
Before yesterday’s homicide, the last murder in Washington, D.C. was recorded on September 11th.
Shortly after 12:30 pm, the Metro Police Department responded to an incident where one male was found suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced at the scene and brought to the Office of the Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
