Man Slashed Aboard NYC’s A-Train, Suspect At Large

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who slashed a man’s hand during a dispute over seating on a southbound A train earlier this month.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at approximately 5:48 a.m. A 33-year-old victim was onboard the train when an unknown individual engaged him in an argument. The suspect then used an unidentified sharp object to slash the victim’s left hand before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries.

Authorities describe the suspect as a male with a medium build, facial hair, and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black facemask, a red shirt, and a black jacket.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD.
