Man slashed and stabbed outside Avenue U building in early morning attack

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 27-year-old man was slashed and stabbed during a street attack early Saturday morning in Gravesend, according to police.

The incident was reported around 4:30 a.m. in front of 158 Avenue U. Authorities said an unidentified male approached the victim, punched him in the face, then slashed his back and stabbed his left forearm before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim later walked into NYC Health and Hospitals/Coney Island, where he was treated for minor injuries, officials said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
