Man slashed in face during argument on Bronx subway, suspect flees

NEW YORK — A 57-year-old man was slashed in the face during a dispute on a Bronx subway train Monday morning, police said.

The attack occurred around 11:20 a.m. on a southbound 5 train at the Prospect Avenue station. Authorities said the victim and an unidentified individual were engaged in a verbal altercation when the assailant displayed a knife and slashed the man.

The suspect fled on foot to an unknown location. The victim sustained facial injuries but was not hospitalized.

Police have not released a description of the suspect as the investigation continues.
