Man slashed in face during early morning dispute in Queens

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 32-year-old man was slashed in the face with a sharp object during an early morning altercation outside a Jackson Heights residence, police said.

The attack occurred at approximately 3:53 a.m. Saturday in front of 105-02 34th Avenue, when the victim became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual. The confrontation escalated quickly, resulting in the suspect striking the victim multiple times in the face with what authorities described as a sharp object.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound along 34th Avenue. No arrests have been made, and the attacker’s identity remains unknown.

Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after the incident and transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police have not released a motive or whether the individuals knew each other.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and are reviewing surveillance footage in the area. It is not yet known what type of sharp object was used in the assault.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD as detectives work to identify the suspect. No further details have been made public.

“The individual then fled on foot, traveling eastbound on 34 Avenue,” the report stated.

The violent episode adds to a string of overnight incidents reported in the borough in recent weeks.
