Man slashed in face during knife attack on Bronx subway train

Bronx, NY – A 21-year-old man was slashed across the face late Thursday night in a knife attack aboard a southbound 6 train, police said.

The assault happened around 11:37 p.m. as the train approached the Westchester Square station. An unidentified man pulled a knife and slashed the victim on the left side of his face before fleeing the train on foot in an unknown direction.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police released a description of the suspect, who is described as a man with a dark complexion and dreadlocks, about 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds. He remains at large.
