Man Slashed on MTA Bus in Queens

Queens, NY – Police are investigating an assault that occurred on a city bus in Queens, leaving a 57-year-old man with injuries. The incident took place on Monday at the intersection of Main Street and Melbourne Avenue around 6:00 PM.

According to authorities, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified individual while aboard an MTA bus. The dispute escalated when the assailant brandished a box cutter and slashed the victim in the arm and chest. Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Emergency services promptly responded to a 911 call reporting the incident. The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital by EMS, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

The police are currently seeking the unidentified suspect and are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
