Man struck with glass bottle during argument in Midtown, suspect flees

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A 37-year-old man suffered minor injuries after being struck in the face with a glass bottle during an argument in Midtown, police said.

The incident occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., outside 231 East 53rd Street. According to authorities, the altercation began as a verbal dispute before the unidentified assailant attacked the victim, leaving him with multiple minor lacerations.

The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, police said. Emergency medical services treated the victim at the scene for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, and police are continuing their investigation. A description of the suspect has not yet been released.
