SUITLAND, MD — A man suspected of fatally shooting his girlfriend early Monday was later found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his vehicle, authorities said.

The Prince George’s County Police Department responded around 1:55 a.m. on April 28, 2025, to a home in the 3900 block of Bexley Place, where they discovered 36-year-old Neri Moreno Gratini suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators quickly developed a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Around 2:25 a.m., officers from Oxon Hill Division IV located the suspect’s SUV near northbound I-495 and Oxon Hill Road. After the suspect failed to exit the vehicle when ordered, officers, with assistance from the Forest Heights Police Department, approached and observed the man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A firearm was recovered from the SUV, and the suspect was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the domestic-related homicide

The names of the suspect have not yet been released, and officials said the case remains an open and active investigation. The motive for the fatal shooting has not been disclosed.

Police confirmed that no officers were injured during the traffic stop or subsequent approach to the suspect’s vehicle.
