Man Threatened Juvenile With Replica Gun

CUMBERLAND, MD – An incident involving an assault with a handgun led to the arrest of a Cumberland man on Sunday.

Gerald Allen Moore, 33, was apprehended by the Cumberland Police Department following a dispatch to a residence on E Second Street. Moore is accused of assaulting an adult and a juvenile using what was initially thought to be a handgun. Investigations later revealed that the weapon was a replica airsoft gun, with its orange safety markings removed.

Moore faces multiple charges, including two counts each of first-degree assault and second-degree assault, as well as child abuse. He was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center.
