Man Who Drove Car Into Home Facing Arson Charge

Albemarle County, VA – Authorities responded to a domestic incident that led to a vehicle crashing into a home and starting a fire Thursday morning. The incident resulted in a total loss of the single-family home, displacing five residents.

Suspect Jacob A. Pope, 26, was identified and later apprehended on Interstate 64 westbound after leaving the scene with a baseball bat. Pope faces charges including attempted malicious wounding, child endangerment, and arson. He is currently in custody pending a bond hearing.
