Man Who Murdered Wife at U-Haul Storage Facility Convicted After Four Day Trial

GREENSBURG, PA – Alfred Keith Steele, 44, of Apollo, was convicted of first-degree murder on Thursday, in Westmoreland County.

The verdict came after a four-day trial for the May 2022 shooting of his wife, Kelly, at a U-Haul storage facility in Lower Burrell.

Steele confessed to the crime after turning himself in. District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli acknowledged the jury’s role in providing justice to Kelly Steele’s family.

The prosecution team, led by Assistant District Attorneys Adam Barr and Katie Ranker, was commended for their efforts. Steele awaits sentencing within 90 days.
