Man with gun causes alarm in Severn

SEVERN, MD – Police in Severn responded to concerned residents after they reported a man in their neighborhood walking around with a gun and talking to children waiting for their school bus.

The armed individual had been observed walking on public property, including near school bus stops, and occasionally engaging in conversations with children.

Police responded and questioned the individual and determined that they were not prohibited from possessing firearms.

According to police, the long gun they possessed complies with Maryland’s open carry laws.

No action was taken.
