Man wounded in roadway shooting on 78th Street in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA – A 35-year-old man was shot and wounded near the 2700 block of South 78th Street on Thursday evening, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 5:23 p.m. on the highway, police said. The victim, identified as a Black male, suffered a gunshot wound to his right hand and another to the left side of his abdomen. He was transported to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center by a private vehicle and was listed in stable condition.

Police said the scene remains under investigation, but no weapons have been recovered and no arrests have been made.
