MANASSAS, VA – Late Saturday night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at the Westgate Apartments on Ashland Ave. The incident escalated from a verbal altercation to an alleged abduction involving a 22-year-old woman and Abner Edgardo De Lao.
During the altercation, De Lao briefly grabbed the woman’s wrist and subsequently blocked her from leaving by climbing onto her vehicle. Police encountered De Lao actively resisting arrest in the parking lot, but he was detained without further incident.
De Lao, 23, faces charges including abduction, domestic assault and battery, and obstruction of justice. He is currently held without bond, with a court date pending. No injuries were reported from the incident.
