Manchester man charged with child sex assault in Ocean County case

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – A Manchester Township man already facing multiple sex crime charges in Atlantic County has now been charged with sexually assaulting a child in Ocean County, prosecutors announced.

Update: The photo used in this story originally is that of Darnell Donta Williams, in the Ocean County Jail for Domestic Assault.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said Darnell Williams, 34, was charged on September 17 with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with a 2015 incident involving a minor female victim who was in his care in Manchester.

Williams is currently being held at the Atlantic County Jail on three counts each of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and official misconduct for separate incidents in Atlantic County. He will be formally served with the new Ocean County charges while in custody.

Prosecutor Billhimer said his office does not usually release details in cases of this nature but issued a public statement because Williams previously held positions supervising minors in both Atlantic and Ocean counties. Authorities urged anyone with information about Williams or additional incidents to contact investigators.

The case is being investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and High Tech Crime Squad, the Manchester Township Police Department, Stafford Township Police Department, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, and the Hamilton Township Police Department.
