Manhattan DA Announces Indictment in Midtown Assault Spree

MANHATTAN, NY – District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., announced on Tuesday the indictment of Michael Howell, 33, on multiple assault charges for an assault involving glass bottles in Midtown.

The October attacks resulted in two counts of First-Degree Assault, one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, and three counts of Second-Degree Assault.

According to the indictment, on October 5, Howell assaulted a 24-year-old male and a 49-year-old female at a Whole Foods Market and subsequently a 55-year-old female at a subway station.

All victims sustained serious injuries and were treated at the hospital.

DA Bragg expressed his hopes for the victims’ full recovery and emphasized the necessity of safety in public spaces.
