Manhattan store sells big winning lottery ticket

MANHATTAN, NY – A top-prize Take 5 ticket worth $19,465.50 was sold in Manhattan for the midday drawing on Saturday, Dec. 7, the New York Lottery announced.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Sahana, located at 36 East 14th Street. The ticket matched all five numbers drawn from a field of one through 39, securing the prize for the player in the midday round of the popular lottery game.

Take 5 drawings are held twice daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., offering frequent opportunities for players to win. Prizes may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing, according to lottery officials.

The New York Lottery, North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributed $3.8 billion to support public schools in New York State during fiscal year 2023-2024.
