WESTPORT, N.Y. – New York State Police are actively searching for Collen Gardner, a Vermont parole absconder considered armed and dangerous, in Essex County.
Authorities believe Gardner is hiding in a wooded area off Mountain View Road in Westport.
Residents have been urged to lock their doors and report any suspicious activity to 911 or State Police dispatch at 518-897-2000.
Officials have warned the public not to approach or engage Gardner.
