Manhunt for Smithfield Murder Suspect Underway

SMITHFIELD, NC – Smithfield police are actively searching for 20-year-old Markyse Naijae McCain, wanted for first-degree murder following a shooting at Johnson Court Apartments.

The incident occurred at 4:55 p.m. on Monday, leading to the death of Antwane Deshawn Fellows, 30, of Clayton.

The altercation inside a Kay Drive apartment escalated to the fatal shooting.

McCain, considered armed and dangerous, is being sought by detectives.

The Smithfield Police Department asks anyone with information to come forward, with options to remain anonymous via the tip line. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
