Manhunt underway for suspect in SEPTA train assault

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Police are searching for a suspect in an aggravated assault that left a man with a concussion after an attack aboard a SEPTA El Train on Halloween evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. on October 31 near Columbus Boulevard and Spring Garden Street. The victim, a 38-year-old male, was riding the train when an unidentified individual punched him repeatedly in the face and head.

Authorities described the suspect as a person with a short ponytail, wearing a dark hat, gray sweatshirt, orange pants, and multi-colored sneakers.

The Philadelphia Police Department released video footage of the incident in an effort to identify the attacker. The public can view the video on the department’s YouTube channel or website.

“Central Detective Division is seeking the public’s help identifying the individual seen in the following video clips,” the police department stated in a bulletin released Thursday.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
