MAPLEWOOD, NJ – On January 4, Maplewood Police responded to several incidents, including an arrest following a traffic stop and two theft cases.

Officer Campanelli conducted a traffic stop for a minor offense and discovered that the driver, Davontae Thomas, 23, of East Orange, NJ, had an outstanding warrant from Bloomfield.

Thomas was subsequently arrested and handed over to Bloomfield Police.

In a separate incident, a motor vehicle theft was reported at a Franklin Terrace residence. The owner discovered their 2019 Hyundai Tucson missing from the street where it was parked.

Additionally, a worker at a Marie Place residence reported a theft from their parked vehicle. They returned to find a window broken and personal items missing.
