Maplewood Police Report Multiple Threats

MAPLEWOOD, NJThe Maplewood Police Department has reported multiple incidents of theft and vehicle rummage within the community.

On March 28, 2024, officers were dispatched to a Springfield Ave business following a report of a vehicle rummage. The owner, who had left their work vehicle unsecured, returned to find personal items missing.

Subsequent thefts focused on motor vehicle rims and tires, with two separate incidents reported on March 29 and April 3, 2024. Both incidents occurred overnight; one at a Springfield Ave residence and the other at the Community Pool Parking Lot. In each case, the vehicle owners discovered all four rims and tires had been removed from their vehicles by the following morning.

The Maplewood Police Department is investigating these incidents and urges vehicle owners to ensure their vehicles are secured to prevent similar occurrences.
