A 17-year Marine Corps veteran, Lt. Colonel Stuart Scheller has been relieved of duty for speaking his mind about President Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal.
Sheller posted a video that said he demands accountability from his leaders on Thursday. On Friday, he was relieved of duty by the Pentagon.
“I have been relieved for cause based on a lack of trust and confidence as of 14:30 today. My chain of command is doing exactly what I would do… if I were in their shoes. I appreciate the opportunities AITB command provided,” he said.
Scheller said he decorated Marine Corps career may now come to an end.
“Marine Lt Col Stuart Scheller should be re-instated and Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David H. Berger, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley should be held accountable,” Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene responded.
Scheller said that many other Marine Corps officers told him they agree with him, but that he should remove the post because of what it might do to his career.

“Last night when I posted the video I immediately had multiple Marines call and ask me to take down the post..We all agree with you Stu, but nothing will change, and it will come at a huge personal cost to you,” he said. “Obviously I didn’t take it down. Now that I’ve had time to process… I’ll offer this… we can’t ALL be wrong. If you all agree… then step up. They only have the power because we allow it. What if we all demanded accountability?”
