MARLBORO, NJ – The Marlboro Township Police Department has issued a warning about a rise in attempted motor vehicle thefts and residential burglaries.

Chief Peter J. Pezzullo’s office released a statement highlighting a significant increase in these crimes over the past two weeks. The trend is expected to persist through the holiday season. The primary target appears to be BMW X series vehicles, as indicated by state data.

The Police Department is intensifying its patrol efforts to counteract this issue. Residents are urged to take preventive measures such as locking vehicles, bringing key fobs indoors, securing homes, and activating alarms nightly. The community is encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police for immediate investigation and response.
