Maryland community declares snow emergency as winter storm approaches

CAMBRIDGE, MD — The City of Cambridge has declared a snow emergency beginning at 5:00 p.m. Monday and lasting until 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

Authorities urged residents to stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary. “Please refer to the snow emergency routes in the link. Stay safe and do not be out on the roadways unless absolutely necessary,” the department stated on social media.

The emergency declaration comes as a winter storm is expected to impact the region, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous driving conditions. Residents are advised to review designated snow emergency routes and make necessary preparations.
