ANNAPOLIS, MD—Maryland’s Judiciary announced that all state courts, offices, and facilities will be closed to the public on Friday due to a worldwide Microsoft outage. However, they will continue to operate for emergency matters. According to a news release, all clerks’ offices will be closed for the day.

The Maryland Department of Emergency Management also responded to the situation on Friday by elevating the state’s activation level from “normal” to “partial.” This adjustment indicates the presence of an event that necessitates significant monitoring or resources. Additionally, the department has activated its emergency operations center to handle the situation.
