Maryland Man Charged for Leipsic Home Burglary

LEIPSIC, DE — Daniel Rholetter, a 28-year-old from Marydel, Maryland, has been arrested by the Delaware State Police in connection with a residential burglary in Leipsic last month.

The incident occurred in the early hours of March 19, 2024, at a residence on the 200 block of Main Street. An intruder gained entry into the home through a window in a screen door and stole the keys to a Dodge Ram truck, which was subsequently taken but has been recovered. Following an investigation, Rholetter and another suspect, Jennifer Barnes, were identified and warrants for their arrest were issued.

Rholetter was arrested on April 1, 2024, and faced several charges including first-degree burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree conspiracy, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution with a $24,100 secured bond. Authorities are still seeking Jennifer Barnes in relation to the burglary.
