Maryland Natural Resource Police Officer Rescues Fawn After Doe Struck and Killed

ELDERSBURG, MD – You never know what the day will bring you when you put on the police uniform, and for Maryland Natural Resource Officer Marney, it was saving a baby deer after its mom was killed in a collision with a vehicle.

On Sunday, Officer Marney responded to the call for a fatal crash involving a deer. When he arrived, witnesses reported that the fawn kept attempting to nurse on the deceased deer. Marney was able to locate and safely secure the fawn and transported it to a local wildlife rehabilitation clinic.
