FRUITLAND, MD — A woman from Maryland’s Eastern Shore is celebrating a $100,000 lottery win after taking a store clerk’s advice to try a new $50 scratch-off.

The Salisbury-area player, who goes by the nickname “Mama D,” purchased the three-day-old $5,000,000 Fortune scratch-off at Royal Farms, located at 101 West Cedar Lane in Fruitland.

She scratched the ticket in the store and quickly realized she had matched multiple numbers, ultimately uncovering a $100,000 prize. She later called family members to share the news but has not yet made plans for her winnings.
