Maryland woman turns car odometer into $100K win

FORT WASHINGTON, MD – A Prince George’s County resident hit it big after her lucky Pick 5 numbers, drawn from her car’s odometer, landed her a $100,000 prize from two identical tickets.

The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the winning tickets using the same five-digit number—a strategy she said was inspired by past wins with Pick 4. Her choice paid off when both tickets hit, each worth $50,000.

She scanned the tickets at the 7-Eleven located at 9413 Livingston Road in Fort Washington and was stunned to discover the win.

The winner, a longtime lottery player, plans to pay off her car, clear bills, and share a portion of the money with her father.

The 7-Eleven retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus—$500 for each winning ticket sold.

The Maryland Lottery has confirmed the payout and credited the win to the player’s consistent approach and number selection.
