Mattapan Traffic Stop Leads to Firearm Arrest

MATTAPAN, MA – On Saturday, at approximately 1:15 AM, Tevin Ramsey, 28, from South Boston, was arrested by officers from the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan).

The arrest followed a traffic stop in the area of Greenwood St and Harvard St.

Officers initiated the stop after observing the vehicle, in which Ramsey was a passenger, speeding and disregarding a red light.

A firearm was visible in Ramsey’s jacket pocket. The Polymer 80 9mm pistol was loaded with ammunition.

Ramsey is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a loaded firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. The driver received citations for motor vehicle infractions, and other passengers were released.
