MCKEAN COUNTY, PA – District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer announced that Brian James Borrasso, from North Versailles, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to a state prison term for multiple offenses, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Discharge of a Weapon into an Occupied Structure.

The sentencing, which took place on Thursday, at the McKean County Courthouse, follows an incident that occurred on August 28, 2020, at the Corner Bar in Smethport.

Borrasso was caught stealing $20 left on the bar and was escorted out. He then returned in a silver SUV, firing two shots towards the bartender and the building, which was occupied at the time.

Following the shooting, Borrasso fled the scene, but was later apprehended near Hamlin Lake Park after officers noticed his damaged SUV.

The investigation revealed that Borrasso was under the influence of alcohol, and two pistols were found in his vehicle. He has been sentenced to 54 to 108 months in prison, followed by 12 months of consecutive probation. Additionally, Borrasso is ordered to have no contact with the victims, pay restitution, undergo a mental health evaluation, receive drug and alcohol treatment, and other terms.
