Men Who Attacked NYPD Transit Cop Arrested for Assault

BRONX, NY – The Bronx District Attorney’s Office has announced the indictment of two men from Westchester for assaulting an NYPD Transit Lieutenant.

Brian Innocent, 24, of New Rochelle, and Marquise Webb, 24, of Yonkers, face charges including First-Degree Assault and Assault on a Police Officer.

On November 11, at around 8:55 p.m., Lieutenant Gypsy Pichardo of Transit District 3 responded to a fight on a northbound No. 1 train at the 238th Street station. The altercation escalated when Innocent and Webb attacked the Lieutenant after he asked them to leave the station, resulting in serious injuries to the officer.

Both defendants have been arraigned before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Kim Parker, with bail set at $5,000 cash and $20,000 bond. They are due back in court on February 27, 2024.
