Missing Girl, 3, Reunited with Father After Being ‘Missing’ Since June

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A missing 3-year-old girl, Samalea Daniels, has been safely returned to her custodial parent, Jalen Davis, following months of separation.

Davis reported his daughter missing in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on June 20, 2023, suspecting she had been taken by her mother, Tianna Daniels, to Virginia Beach.

The Virginia Beach Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit took over the case on July 14, when a Virginia Beach Judge issued an Ex Parte Order for Samalea’s return to Davis. Attempts to find Samalea were initially unsuccessful, and a Missing Person Alert was activated by the Virginia State Police.

On September 20, Tianna Daniels was apprehended at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse due to an outstanding warrant. Following her arrest, Samalea Daniels was safely reunited with her father, Jalen Davis.
