LAKE MARY, FL – A 26-year-old woman reported missing has been found dead from an apparent suicide, police reported.
“We are saddened to report that Katelyn was found deceased this morning due to an apparent self-inflicted injury. Our heart and prayers are with her family and friends during this very difficult time,” the department said.
Police issued the following statement earlier this week, “We are asking the public for help locating a missing/endangered 26-year-old female. According to a family member, Katelyn Sawyer made threats to harm herself. She was last seen just before midnight on July 5th when she left her home located on Exeter Avenue in unincorporated Lake Mary on foot. Katelyn is 5’3’, weighs approximately 120 pounds, has long blonde hair, and a small blue tattoo on her left cheek below her eye. She was last seen wearing a black Aero sweatshirt, black leggings, and white and black slides.”
