Monessen Woman Charged in Family Dollar Stabbing

MONESSEN, PA – Raynelle Mays, 48, of Monessen, was charged on Friday, with multiple offenses, including attempted criminal homicide, following a stabbing incident in a Family Dollar parking lot.

Monessen Police Department reports indicate that Mays had arranged to meet the victim to discuss a personal matter.

A physical altercation ensued, during which Mays allegedly stabbed the victim twice.

The victim, who sustained two stab wounds to her lung cavity, was airlifted to a Pittsburgh-area hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and as with all criminal charges, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
